Import your workouts from Strong and Hevy

Years of training shouldn't stay behind in your old app. Export your history from Strong or Hevy as a CSV and upload it to LiftChat in Profile → “Import & export”: before anything is written you see how many workouts, sets and exercises were found.

Import from Strong & Hevy
  1. 1No duplicates
  2. 2Exercises matched to the catalog
  3. 3Units
  4. 4Export back

How it works

  1. 1

    Export the CSV

Strong — Settings → Export data. Hevy — Settings → Export & Import data → Export workouts.

  2. 2

    Upload it in your profile

Profile → “Import & export” → “Choose a CSV file”. The summary opens in the chat. The file is read without AI — no assistant limit is used.

  3. 3

    Check and import

A summary: dated workouts, sets, matched exercises, what's already in the app. Nothing is written until you tap “Import”.

What's inside

No duplicates

A workout already in LiftChat (by its start time) isn't written twice. The same file twice, or overlapping exports, add nothing twice.

Exercises matched to the catalog

Names are matched against 1000+ exercises. Anything not in the catalog becomes your own exercise on paid plans; on Free it's skipped — the same file after upgrading adds what was skipped.

Units

Hevy writes units into the file. Strong's newer export doesn't — you pick kg or lb in the summary.

Export back

Profile → “Import & export”: workouts as a CSV with Strong's columns (opens in Excel, imports into other trackers) and everything as JSON. On paid plans; on any plan you can request a copy of your data by email.

Questions

What gets imported?

Dated workouts and their sets: weight, reps, time, distance. Warm-up sets and notes aren't — the summary shows how many warm-ups were skipped.

What about other apps?

As a file — Strong and Hevy only. Anything else you can send to the assistant as text: several workouts at a time, with dates.

Is it free?

Import works on every plan. On Free, exercises not in the catalog are skipped and stats show the last 30 days — older workouts are kept and open up with a subscription.

Can I upload the file again?

Yes. What's already imported isn't duplicated; only new things are added — such as exercises skipped before you upgraded.

How do I get my data out of LiftChat?

Profile → “Import & export”: a Strong-style CSV and a JSON with everything — routines, your own exercises, workouts and body measurements. Export is on paid plans; on any plan you can request a copy by email.
